NIELSENSVANE started as a small living room knitting enterprise with the goal of making long lasting, warm and durable sweaters for husbands and sons protecting them on their often long and hard days at sea. The sweaters slowly got famous by word of mouth. Other sailors saw them and wondered if they also could get one and before Esther and Johanne Marie knew it they where knitted for the whole village.

Not much has changed at NIELSENSVANE besides we no longer knit our sweaters in the living room and Esther and Johanne are long gone and very much missed. Their grandsons Simon and Luca are doing all they can to make their great grandmothers proud and so far they have succeeded fairly well if you where to ask them.
